Chocolate Saltine Toffee

Chocolate Saltine ToffeeIf you like salty and sweet together (I do!), then Chocolate Saltine Toffee is for you.  An added bonus is that it’s absurdly easy to make.

Ingredients:

4 oz. saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, and almonds all work well)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.  On top of this, line with saltines.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then stir in the sugar.  Bring to a boil for three minutes.

Pour over the saltine crackers, covering crackers completely.

Bake for 5-6 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.  Allow to sit for 5 minutes and then use a spoon to spread out the chocolate.

Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.

Let cool and then break into pieces before serving.

Enjoy the chocolate saltine toffee!
